I hope you all have a great Easter! There is nothing like coming together as one to celebrate the awesomeness that is our Savior! My team and I celebrate this every day, so please forgive me if I forget there is one special day set aside in remembrance. It hurts my heart to think that not everyone knows what it is like to walk with Jesus, talk to Him as a friend, hear from Him, and know that they are the center of His love. Man, I love Jesus! I have love, because He is love. I hope you all realize, that while I enjoy telling you my stories, and I enjoy sharing my life with all of you, my main focus truly is Jesus and what He wants me to do here on this planet. Getting our souls healed, and sharing the message of soul healing is what God put me here for.
You know we all make choices. I made choices that were not what God wanted for me, and yet, He moved in, around, and through all things to bring me to where I am today. I look at my life and I am like, “Wow, God, you are so amazing. You knew I would make that choice, and you loved me anyway. You knew I would go my own way for years, and you never gave up on me!”
We give up on people sometimes don’t we? They go to prison, or they drop off our radar, and we forget about them. I catch myself thinking about someone, and then realizing I haven’t seen or heard from that person for years! Jesus never does that. He never forgets about us. He never walks away from us, and He never stops loving us. Even when we reject Him, scorn Him, abuse Him, and blame Him for all of our problems, He never does that to us.
Today is Good Friday, and I just want to encourage each of you to stop for a minute and ask Jesus to show you just how much He loves you. For me, when I see the cross I am reminded of the price He paid for us. Keep this in mind today, as you are thinking about the cross. Even in this He did not sin. Even while being tortured He never stopped loving us. He had to check His thoughts, and keep His soul pure even through all of that! Had he sinned at that point it would have all been over. He could have rained down destruction on all of us, called out for Angel armies to come and fight for Him, but He went willingly, loving us the entire time! I can’t get my head around that. I can’t imagine loving the people who were torturing me, and knowing that the only reason I was on this planet was to pay the price for their sin. I know I couldn’t do it. He knew that too, and I am so thankful that He didn’t just say, “Forget it, you people just aren’t worth it today.”
What are we called to do? Heal the sick, raise the dead, and give sight to the blind. We are called to take the message of this good news into all the world. Love our neighbor as we love ourselves, love God, take care of orphans and widows, and visit those in prison. We are supposed to be like Jesus. We can’t do that if we are not in a relationship with Him. We can know all about someone, and never know them personally.
I pray you take this weekend to get to know Jesus if you don’t. Get to know Him better if you do, and never forget that the price He paid for our sin was a price not one of us could have ever paid. Love did that. Jesus did that.
1 John 4:9-11 (AMPC) “In this the love of God was made manifest (displayed) where we are concerned: in that God sent His Son, the only begotten or unique [Son], into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins. Beloved, if God loved us so [very much], we also ought to love one another.”
